Insomnia consultations

Dr. Pierre Lubold works with the Center for Sleep Disorders to treat insomnia. Sometimes, a physician will refer you directly to Dr. Lubold for an insomnia assessment.

Or, you can call the Center directly at (407) 646-7466 for help with your insomnia. You will be asked the following questions:

  • Do you have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep?

  • Do you awaken during the night? If so, do you have difficulty returning to sleep?

  • How long have you had this problem with your sleep?

  • Do you snore, or have you been told that you snore?

Based on your answers, you will then be directed to the doctor who can best help you.

What to expect during the insomnia consultation

If you are directed to work with Dr. Lubold on insomnia, you will be scheduled for a consultation. Prior to this visit, please print the Sleep Diary and fill it out for at least 7 days.

He will spend an hour with you to generate a clear picture of your sleep problem, and to tailor a treatment plan based on your specific needs.

The treatment plan is based on cognitive behavior modification, using a research-tested protocol named Sleep Restriction and Stimulus Control. This procedure involves restructuring your sleep arrangements.

Your progress towards healthier sleep is tracked using the Sleep Diary. Usually, deeper sleep is achieved over a two- to eight-week period.

What to bring to your insomnia consultation

For your first visit with Dr. Lubold, please bring your Sleep Diary, with at least 7 days filled out, to your initial consultation.
